MCL FRESHMEN TREAT (30 June 2007)

Campus life at Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) includes not only academic excellence but also an appreciation for the arts and culture. Last 30 June 2007, MCL proudly welcomed and celebrated its 854 pioneer batch of Engineering, Information Technology, and Accountancy students through a Freshman Treat.

During the college break at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the students lined up at the Office of the College Registrar to receive their free Alpha Batch t-shirts, 2007-2008 MCL Student Planner, and free Pepsi. The concert for the Freshmen Treat started at 5:00 p.m. with “Santa Banana”, an amateur rock band composed of MCL students, as the front act. The Mapua Concert Singers led the singing of the National Anthem. After which, the MCL Alpha Batch were treated to an excellent rendition of pop and OPM songs by the award winning choral group. During intermission, the Freshmen were able to meet and greet the members of the Mapua Cardinals Basketball Team. Also, an electronic raffle draw was held and a men’s watch, ladies’ watch, and a 2 GB Toshiba USB Flash Drive were given off as prizes. Alternative bands Mom’s Cake, Callalily, and Chicosci rocked the MCL campus with their electrifying performances and music to the great delight of the crowd.
